33kV Electrical Substation Development

MECIP successfully delivered engineering services and construction for the development of a 33kV Electrical Substation to support the power infrastructure requirements of a major chemical manufacturing facility in Kuantan, Pahang. The project formed a critical component of the client’s industrial expansion program, ensuring a secure, reliable, and efficient electrical power supply to support continuous plant operations.

The project involved the design and development of a complete substation facility, including electrical systems, control and protection systems, switchgear integration, transformer installation, building infrastructure, and associated civil and structural works. As a greenfield development, the project required comprehensive engineering coordination from concept design through detailed engineering, construction support, and commissioning.

MECIP’s multidisciplinary team provided integrated engineering solutions covering electrical, civil, structural, mechanical, and infrastructure disciplines to ensure compliance with utility requirements, industry standards, and operational reliability objectives. Particular emphasis was placed on system safety, maintainability, operational flexibility, and long-term asset performance.
