Offshore Metering Skid System at West Lutong Platform

MECIP successfully delivered engineering services for the design, development, and implementation of a Metering Skid System for an offshore production platform located offshore Sarawak, Malaysia. The project was undertaken to enhance hydrocarbon measurement accuracy, operational accountability, and production monitoring capabilities within the facility.

The Metering Skid serves as a critical component of the production system, providing reliable flow measurement and monitoring of hydrocarbon streams to support production allocation, custody transfer requirements, and operational performance management. The project involved the design and integration of process piping, instrumentation, control systems, structural supports, and skid-mounted equipment within an operating offshore platform environment.

As a brownfield offshore development, the project required meticulous engineering planning to ensure seamless integration with existing facilities while maintaining operational continuity and compliance with stringent offshore safety and performance requirements. Advanced 3D modelling and multidisciplinary engineering methodologies were utilized to optimize equipment arrangement, accessibility, maintainability, and constructability within the platform’s space-constrained environment.

The successful delivery of the Metering Skid System enhanced measurement reliability, operational efficiency, and production data accuracy, supporting the client’s long-term asset management and production optimization objectives.
