Paya Peda Dam, Besut – Detailed Design, Engineering/Technical Study, Tender & Construction Supervision

MECIP, in joint venture with Jurutera Perunding Zaaba, provided multidisciplinary engineering consultancy services for the Paya Peda Dam Project in Besut, Terengganu, undertaken for the Kementerian Pertanian & Asas Tani Malaysia under the KETARA development programme.

The consultancy scope covered detailed engineering design, engineering and technical studies, tender documentation and construction supervision, encompassing both Civil & Structural (C&S) and Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) engineering disciplines.

With an estimated project value of RM336.0 million, Paya Peda Dam represents a significant water infrastructure development requiring comprehensive multidisciplinary engineering coordination. MECIP’s involvement in the project included the development and coordination of engineering solutions to support the technical requirements of the dam and its associated infrastructure throughout the design, tender and construction stages.

The project provided MECIP with extensive experience in large-scale water resources and infrastructure development, particularly in the integration of C&S and M&E engineering requirements within a major dam project. The successful completion of the project demonstrates MECIP’s capability in providing comprehensive engineering consultancy services for complex and high-value public infrastructure developments.
